Our work in Consulting

ADD Resources’ team has strong, long-established connections to the strategy consulting world.¬† This equips us with an unrivalled understanding of the sector and enviable networks amongst constituent firms ranging from the top international players to niche boutique firms and new ventures.

Our work in the consulting sector has ranged from the one-off appointment of senior Partners to volume recruitment campaigns at Manager level and specialist group hires and acquisitions.  In addition we have successfully secured Business Development and Sales Specialists for a major change management consulting firm.

Case Study: Sourcing a Practice Lead for a boutique strategy consulting firm

ADD Resources was well known to this boutique strategy consulting firm, through our connections with London Business School and other top consulting firms.

Given our niche specialism and exceptional understanding of the strategy consulting world, we were an obvious partner for them when recruiting for their team.

Most recently, they asked us to help with a key appointment, a Senior Principal to lead the development of their Education Practice in the UK and Europe.  Education is an important practice area for the firm and they already have a strong international reputation for their work in this area. However, there has been no senior resource dedicated to this sector in the London office.

One of the major challenges of this brief was that the top strategy firms have little involvement in education work and there are few strategy consultants who specialise in the sector.  Our reliable networks were therefore critical in enabling us to identify those individuals with the right profile who had a, perhaps latent, interest in education.

The aim was to find a strategy consultant, with a first class academic background and ideally the strong strategic skill set afforded by the training of a top tier strategy consulting firm. They needed a strong track record of project management and delivery and ideally some exposure to business development.  Key to the appointment was an enthusiasm for the Education sector and preferably some previous experience within it.

The search was an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate our ability to offer creative, lateral solutions by quickly presenting a shortlist which included several different types of profile for discussion with our client.  They were pleased to consider the alternatives we suggested and through first interviews narrowed the field to three strong candidates.

The exceptional quality of the candidates meant they faced a particularly difficult decision but through more rigorous assessment they reached a decision.  Our support and information sharing meant they were in a strong position to put together an attractive offer which was accepted by their preferred candidate.
